More 3D Modelling – Sheffield Hallam Cantor Building

Over the past few weeks I’ve been modelling one of my university buildings for a group project. I modelled the Cantor building (previously known as Furnival building), it’s been a pretty big project and I’ve lost track of how long it took me. The building was modelled entirely in 3DS Max.

I used a ceramic texture to get a smooth, clean look and a bold red colour to highlight important areas of the building, in this case the art gallery within Cantor. I lit the scene with photometric free lights and rendered it using the Mental Ray renderer. Here are some different views of the model.

I’ll be uploading a short 360° video of the model when I have the time to complete a render of the building.
